May 20, 2015 - On Tuesdays you should work the muscle(s) you feel are holding you back in your main movements. Use isolation exercises for sets of 8-12 reps for that extra work. Pump-enhancing techniques like partials, slow reps, rest/pause, double contraction and the like can also be used.

The joke may be on us. Ian McCarthy - What's wrong with broscience?

Check out his video Ian McCarthy - What's wrong with broscience?

Check out TMW Hodgetwins really fed up response to a Ian facebook post. Warning Language.

This dude is great. But, I have to wonder if he's just messing with the universe. Does he really believe all the studies? After reading this stuff since the early eighties, I have learned that bro science is sometimes the way to go.

The funny thing is all the feuds he has going with the Hodgetwins and others on youtube.

It's like a hip-hop beef for youtubers.

I mean beta-alanine. I feel like maybe it works but will it be around in another 5 years? Your guess is as good as mine.

I remember my great grandmother saying children grow when they are sleeping.....she definitely didn't read any studies and had no clue about human growth hormone. Bro science.

Maybe he's just not old enough to remember all the studies from the 80's that said orchic was a great testosterone booster.

Me, I love the empirical data and then test it out. I mean I've had some products that seemed to look great as far as the specs, but sucked when I used them.

START WITH THE STUDIES AND VERIFY AT THE DINNER TABLE AND IN THE GYM!

I think he is just having lot's of fun. I mean he's standing in front of a grand bookcase, using words like empirical and holding nerd glasses.

I like him! I like the Hodgetwins too.

I think there's room for both. Maybe I can broker peace between them? Nah, not possible.

I bet he's read some of my favorites.

Fooled by Randomness
Freakonomics
Influence

Either way. He makes people mad.

What do you think of him?

I would also have to say that I on paper I really like the Smartpowders Totalis that Ian came up with.
I can't wait to try it. Check out the ingredients below. It comes with 200 grams of Citrulline Malate.
Summary
of ingredient profile:

Caffeine
Caffeine
is a stimulant that has been demonstrated to increase anaerobic performance
and decrease perceived exertion during exercise.

N-acetyl L-tyrosine
(NAT)

NAT
is the acetylated form of the amino acid L-tyrosine, a stimulant-like
non-stimulant ingredient which acts downstream of caffeine to increase its
effects without increasing stimulant-related side effects. The acetylation
process greatly increases the per-gram efficacy of this
ingredient.

Acetyl L-carnitine
(ALCAR)

ALCAR
is a nootropic (sometimes known as a ‘smart drug’) that has been demonstrated
to cross the blood-brain barrier and act on the brain as a strong antioxidant,
thus slowing the degradation of brain cells. It is included here alongside
caffeine and NAT with the goal of increasing cognitive function. ALCAR also
has the desirable side effects of improving insulin sensitivity and sperm
motility.

L-carnitine L-tartrate
(LCLT)

LCLT
is a combination of carnitine and tartrate that has been demonstrated to
decrease free radical formation, improve recovery, increase androgen receptor
density, and improve one’s VO2 max.

beta-Alanine
(β-Alanine)

beta-Alanine
is a beta amino acid demonstrated to drastically increase intramuscular
carnosine concentrations, thus decreasing muscular fatigue and increasing
overall workload.

Citrulline
malate

Citrulline
malate is a combination of the amino acid citrulline and malic acid
demonstrated to improve muscular endurance and decrease delayed-onset muscle
soreness after exercise.

Norvaline
L-norvaline
is an analog of the amino acid branched-chain amino acid valine. Norvaline
inhibits the arginase enzyme, increasing arginine concentrations for enhanced
conversion to nitric
oxide.
