Mucuna Pruriens - Testosterone, Mood, Growth Hormone, Lower Prolactin and Beat a Junk-Food Craving

Mucuna Pruriens or Velvet Bean, is a plant that has high concentrations of levodopa (L-Dopa). The amino acid that is the precursor to the neurotransmitter dopamine.  L-Dopa has been shown to inhibit prolactin acting on the pituitary gland.

In addition to the reduction of prolactin, Mucuna Pruriens is an libido booster by increasing the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) which inturn supports the production of testosterone.

Mucuna Pruriens also has supportive serotonin and opioid receptor ligands. This ligands combined with L-Dopa support mood improvements. Low dopamine and mood have also been related to mood related over eating.

As a side note for bodybuilders, prolactin inhibition has been shown to help prevent the dreaded formation of gynecomastia.

Try 100-400mg taken 30-60 minutes before workouts and before bedtime with an upper limit of 1 gram per day. Besure to cycle not taking more that 6 - 8 weeks with 4 weeks off.

The Homeopathic Skeptic is Wrong. at least about Traumeel

My friends seem to get real enjoyment over my mistakes. Maybe from years of seeming being a "know it all". Well, they didn't spend all that time in the library stacks of the non-fiction section. I used the card catalog before it was computerized and that green book that listed magazine articles by subject. Then I had to go to the microfiche to get to the article.

Yeah I was that dude. I even rode my bike to the library.

Well, being a non-fiction factual guy, I just haven't been able to wrap my mind around the theories surrounding Homeopathy.

Well, I happened to see a gentleman purchasing some 20 boxes of Traumeel and I had to ask. It seems he was a trainer for a pro football team and they used it. O.K., now my curiosity is peaked.

I had some samples at home and a sore shoulder always. So I rubbed it on. Almost instant relief.

You may also want to give it a try.

I am still looking to try Arniflora next. I met a former European League basketball player who swears by it.

The Amino Acid Profile of Human Muscle Tissue

I have no idea whether this information is relevant to muscle building or protein intake but thought that is was interesting enough to share. Even though leucine is a small percentage of muscle tissue it is still key to signaling protein synthesis. It appears that leucine has the ability to bypass usage in the gut and the liver leading to high blood levels. The high blood levels signals the mTor pathway to initiate protein synthesis.

The concentration is in Molar concentration (mM) .

Life Extension DHEA Complete with 7-Keto and DHEA

DHEA Complete
100 mg 7-Keto® DHEA & 25 mg DHEA 60 vegetarian capsules
Item Catalog Number: 01478
DHEA Complete provides both bioidentical DHEA and the more targeted 7-Keto® DHEA metabolite. The 7-Keto® DHEA form has been shown to safely increase thermogenesis, and help maintain healthy body weight and body fat when combined with a diet and exercise program.17-19 A clinical study indicated that 7-Keto® DHEA increases the resting metabolic rate of adults.20 Antioxidants are added based on the effect 7-Keto® has in boosting mitochondrial oxidation.
It has been shown that the serum hormone DHEA often declines by 75%–80% from peak levels by age 70, leading to hormonal imbalances that can affect one’s quality of life.1-4 Peak blood levels of DHEA occur at approximately age 25, decreasing progressively thereafter.3 The marked decline in serum DHEA with age is believed to play a role in health problems associated with aging. Thus, scientists have been looking at ways of restoring DHEA to youthful levels to prevent or reverse those health issues, and are now discovering mechanisms by which DHEA protects against age-related decline.

Since 1981, several thousand studies have been published on DHEA’s various benefits, including immunomodulatory properties as well as positive effects on mood, quality of life, and body composition. It has been proposed that restoring the circulating levels of DHEA to those found in young people may improve well-being and sexual function. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, ten months of DHEA replacement therapy showed a beneficial effect of enhancing the increases in muscle mass and strength with the addition of resistance exercise in elderly individuals.4 The studies of DHEA therapy in women with adrenal insufficiency also suggest beneficial effects on well-being, mood, and sexuality.5 DHEA could be of benefit to the normal aging brain.6-8 Some studies have reported DHEA may improve mood and alleviate melancholy.9 In addition, recent studies have shown that DHEA has the capacity to improve vascular health by a number of complex processes.10-12 One of them is increasing nitric oxide synthesis.10
In a randomized, double-blind, controlled trial, DHEA replacement therapy for one year helped protect hip bone mineral density in older adults and spine bone mineral density in older women.13 DHEA has also been shown to support a healthy circulatory system and joint/bone health.10-12,14,15

DHEA usage and safety precautions

Life Extension has been investigating DHEA for over 30 years. Life Extension’s DHEA directions for use are specially drafted to provide optimal, but safe dosing.
The standard blood test to evaluate DHEA status is one that measures DHEA sulfate levels (dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate or DHEA-S). The DHEA-S is calculated in micrograms per deciliter (µg/dL) of blood. A DHEA-S blood test may be taken three to six weeks after initiating a DHEA supplementation regimen to help determine optimal dosing. DHEA testing may save you money if it shows you can take less DHEA to maintain youthful DHEA serum levels.
Because of the overwhelming evidence connecting low levels of DHEA to problems associated with aging, Life Extension suggests that all people over age 40 begin DHEA therapy. For most people, the starting dose of DHEA is between 15–75 mg, taken in one daily dose. Many studies have used a daily dose of 50 mg.

Since almost everyone over age 35–40 has lower than optimal levels of DHEA, most people begin supplementation ... and then test their blood DHEA levels later to make sure they are taking the proper dose. Normal serum reference ranges and ideal ranges of DHEA-S are:
Normal
(depending on age)
Ideal
Men
16.2-492 µg/dL
350-490 µg/dL
Women
12-407 µg/dL
275-400 µg/dL
People over age 40 who do not supplement with DHEA usually have serum levels below 200 µg/dL, and many are below 100 µg/dL since a steady decline takes place after the third decade in life.1,16
There are different precautions for men and women that should be observed.

DHEA precautions for men

Before attempting to restore DHEA to youthful levels, men should know their serum PSA (prostate specific antigen) level. Men with prostate cancer or severe benign prostate disease are advised to avoid DHEA since it can be converted into testosterone (and estrogen). Therefore, men are advised to have a PSA and digital rectal exam before initiating DHEA to rule out existing prostate disease.
When taking DHEA we also recommend taking the following other nutrients daily:
Vitamin D5,000 – 10,000 IU
Vitamin E
(D-alpha tocopheryl succinate)
400 IU
Selenium200 mcg
Gamma E Tocopherol
with Sesame Lignans
200 mg
Lycopene Extract10 – 40 mg
Boron3 – 10 mg
Cruciferous Vegetable Extracts
(as found in Triple Action Cruciferous Vegetable Extract)
500 – 1000 mg
It is important for men over 40 to have a physician check their PSA and DHEA-S serum levels every six to twelve months thereafter. Men should also periodically check their blood levels for free testosterone and estrogen to make sure that DHEA is following a youthful metabolic pathway.
See the Male Hormone Restoration protocol or the Male Hormone Modulation chapter in the Disease Prevention & Treatment book for additional hormone balance testing that can be done at the same time serum DHEA-S and PSA levels are being tested.

DHEA precautions for women

Women should consider estrogen and testosterone testing when they take their DHEA blood test in order to evaluate DHEA’s effect on their blood levels of these hormones.
Women who have been diagnosed with an estrogen-dependent cancer should consult their physicians before beginning the DHEA restoration process.
When taking DHEA we also recommend taking the following other nutrients to maintain a healthy balance each day:
Melatonin300 mcg – 3 mg (nightly)
Vitamin E
(D-alpha tocopheryl succinate)
400 IU
Broccoli Extract
(as found in Triple Action Cruciferous Vegetable Extract)
400 mg
Indole-3-carbinol
(as found in Triple Action Cruciferous Vegetable Extract)
80 – 160 mg
Vitamin D35,000 – 10,000 IU
Gamma Tocopherol
with Sesame Lignans
200 mg
Women taking DHEA should refer to the Female Hormone Restoration protocol or the Female Hormone Modulation chapter in the Disease Prevention & Treatment book for information about restoring youthful hormone balance.
This supplement should be taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and regular exercise program. Results may vary.

I just started drinking Green Foods Magma Plus and ...............

I just started drinking Green Foods Magma Plus yesterday and so far so good.

Taste is good. I enjoyed it with dinner but it was alittle too much garlic for breakfast.

Lite tasting compared to other green drinks. I have fifteen servings to we'll see what it does over two weeks.

iSatori Bio-Gro is "fertilizer for your muscles."

Bio-Gro's introduction to the sports nutrition market sets the stage to change everything you thought you knew about protein use and protein synthesis and its role in your ability to develop muscle.

What is Bio-Gro™?Bio-Gro 5

Bio-Gro is a true "game-changer" from iSatori. The first to introduce a new breed of designer supplementation called Bio-Active Peptides. You can think of Bio-Gro as "fertilizer for your muscles."

How does Bio-Gro work?

iSatori has custom engineered and patented the first and most technically advanced, low molecular weight, micro-concentrated form of Bio-Active Peptides (BAP's) found only in Bio-Gro. Designed to provide a supra-physiological effect that, once consumed, signals the body to amplify its natural protein synthesis process, helping you develop lean muscle and recover faster from intense workouts.

What are Bio-Active Peptides?

Bio-Gro 1The engineered Bio-Active Peptides (or BAP's) found only in Bio-Gro use a patented manufacturing method, whereby cleaved protein fragments are extracted from the highest grade bovine colostrums, which are then centrifugated and micro-concentrated to form a low molecular weight, highly bioavailable powder, yielding an exact concentration of bioactive:

  • Proline-Rich Peptides (PRP's)

  • Growth Factors (IgF, TGF beta-2, EGF, PDGF)

  • Immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA)1,2,5,10

  • Lactoferrin

  • Fibroblast-GF11,16,30

  • Why should I use Bio-Gro?

There are five reasons you should use Bio-Gro:

    1. More concentrated. A more concentrated form of Bio-Active Peptides means less out-of-pocket expense for you, compared to regular protein powders. That is because one small scoop (1.5 grams) of Bio-Gro contains the equivalent bio-actives as 25 grams of whey protein concentrate. That makes Bio-Gro nearly half the cost, on a serving-per-serving basis, of regular whey protein powders.

    Bio-Gro 2

    2. More convenient. Unlike bulky tablets and flavored powders, Bio-Gro is an unflavored powder in its raw form that is virtually tasteless. Though it doesn't mix well in plain water, it does mix easily into almost everything else-from your protein shake to pre-workout to amino drink, and even in soft foods like yogurt, cereal, or oatmeal, and more.

    3. More scientific research. There are over 32 published clinical studies that back up the demonstrated benefits of the primary ingredient in Bio-Gro. And more importantly, these studies were conducted mostly on well-trained athletes, participants who traditionally show less positive effects compared to untrained individuals.

    4. More expert opinions. There hasn't been a supplement we can think of, to date, that has had more PhD-sports nutrition experts who independently support and validate the science and effects supporting the primary ingredient in Bio-Gro. Including such highly reputable names as Chris Lockwood, PhD; Jeffrey Stout, PhD; Jay Hoffman, PhD; and David Sandler, ABD-PhD.

    5. Highest quality and banned-substance tested. Because iSatori controls the domestic source of our ingredient and has engineered the first micro-concentrated, low molecular weight Bio-Active Peptides found in Bio-Gro, you can trust and count on every batch being of the highest quality and consistency; and what's more, each batch is tested and certified free of any banned substances (via Informed Choice™ ), and is GRAS certified, HALAL, Kosher, and produced in a certified GMP (good manufacturing practice) facility right here in the USA.

    Who should use Bio-Gro?

Bio-Gro should be used by anyone who is interested in developing or maintaining more lean body mass1-3,5,17,18, 20-24,26-29,33,36-39 and enhancing recovery from exercise or sport.4,6,9,15,35 This would include bodybuilders, fitness, figure, or physique competitors; and athletes competing in any sport, whether collegiate, professional, or recreational. Or, anyone who finds it difficult (or too costly) to consume higher amounts of protein in a day and would rather rely on a more concentrated form of the bio-actives the body will use to amplify protein synthesis.

    Can women use Bio-Gro?

Absolutely! Many athletic women already do. Because Bio-Gro contains almost zero calories, zero fat, and zero sugars, it is perfect for dieters or women who are calorie- or carb-conscience yet want the bioactive benefits of protein to help develop and maintain lean body tissue.1-3,5,17,18, 20-24,26-29,33,36-39 And Bio-Gro requires only one tiny scoop (1.5 grams) compared to a large-sized protein shake (25 grams or more), that can leave your stomach feeling full of gas and bloated. What's more, Bio-Gro is derived from a natural source and is safe for anyone to consume.

    Bio-Gro 3

    How do I use Bio-Gro?

Bio-Gro is an unflavored powder that's easy to use. Simply mix one scoop (1.5 grams), two times a day, in liquid (such as a protein shake, pre-workout, or amino drink, etc.) and thoroughly agitate or blend. Although clumping is likely if stirred in plain water, you can also mix Bio-Gro into your favorite soft foods like yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, etc. Bio-Gro can be taken with or without food. For optimal results, follow the bodyweight dosage chart

    Bio-Gro 4

    What does Bio-Gro taste like?

Bio-Gro is virtually tasteless and can be mixed in just about any drink (other than plain water) or soft food and taken with or without food.

What can I expect from using it?

Bio-Gro was designed to augment an important physiological function to a greater capacity than it can on its own (no matter how much protein or aminos you consume). It does this by assisting your body to signal and accelerate the rate at which it processes the building and re-building of muscle tissue, called protein synthesis. 1-3,5,17,18, 20-24,26-29,33,36-39 By doing so, you can develop lean body mass at a faster rate, more efficiently. Additionally, and equally important, you should notice a reduction in recovery time after bouts of intense exercise or weight training. 4,6,9,15,35 Therefore, Bio-Gro should be used daily and consistently over time, just as you would food or other sources of protein. And better yet, so far as the anecdotal reports suggests, the more you use, the better and more profound its effects:

  • Step 1 (Consume Bio-Gro)

  • Step 2 (Train hard)

  • Step 3 (consume adequate protein)

  • Step 4 develop lean muscle and reduce recovery time)

  • Are there any scientific studies to support Bio-Gro?

Yes. To date, there are over 32 clinical studies, conducted from 1990-2011, which demonstrate the positive effects of the primary ingredient inside Bio-Gro, including improvements in lean body mass, 1-3,5,17,18, 20-24,26-29,33,36-39 performance,7,10,12,19,25,34 recovery, 4,6,9,15,35 strength,8 and immune function,13,14 and more are currently underway.

Are there any banned substances in Bio-Gro?

No. Bio-Gro's primary ingredient is sourced locally, produced in GMP-certified facility, and every batch is tested and certified free of any banned substance. These tests are available upon request and performed by Informed Choice™ and/or HFL Sport Science. Bio-Gro complies with all collegiate and athletic organizations' nutritional requirements.

What are some reports of those who have used Bio-Gro?

During our four years of diligent research and development, there were several hundred "beta-test" participants who experimented with Bio-Gro. Here is a small sample of what they had to say:

"Bio-Gro is now part of our strict regimen of supplementation for all of our elite athletes."

"When we undertook the task of evaluating Bio-Gro, we were skeptical because our athletes are of a heightened level of success so any slight percentage increase in performance would prove to be significant and incredibly useful. Thank goodness we were right! Not only did we see an improvement in our [athlete's] performance, we also saw reduced recovery time using a natural product that is free of any banned substances. We were thrilled! We have, to date, trained 135 elite athletes on Bio-Gro, including several Olympic hopefuls and over 134 All-Americans at the high school and collegiate level. Bio-Gro is now part of our strict regimen of supplementation for all of our elite athletes."

--Jude Massillon, Owner, Sports Performance Group, Rockville Centre, NY

"I've gained a solid inch on my arms in one month!"

"I've always been a naturally muscular guy, and must admit, I'm very skeptical of most supplements. In fact, other than amino acids and protein, I don't heavily rely on any other supplements. Then we started testing Bio-Gro, and because I am the Director of Science of Education for iSatori, I got the benefit of using it well before anyone else. By monitoring my progress closely, I discovered Bio-Gro has helped me put a solid inch of muscle on my arms, during the first month I used it. And, I can tell how it markedly helps me recover much faster after workouts. I can say, with absolutely certainty, Bio-Gro is not only in a class of its own but it will set the stage in Bio-Active Peptides and is here to stay for many, many years to come."

--D. Sandler, ABD-PhD, CSCS; Director of Science & Education, iSatori

"Everything I eat seems to turn to muscle!"

"I'm what you would call your typical ‘hard-gainer.' Even though I am no stranger to the gym and lifting weights, all of my life, I have had the most difficult time gaining weight, let alone muscle mass. No matter what I ate, or how much protein I consumed, I just have never been able to pack on any respectable amount of bodyweight and keep it on.

"That all changed when I was introduced to Bio-Gro during their beta-test phase of development. I happen to work out at a gym in Colorado, where they were soliciting for participants in their pilot studies. I volunteered, and man, am I glad I did. Over the last three months of using Bio-Gro, two sometimes three times daily, I have gained over 15 pounds of muscle mass. That might not sound like a lot, but measured by high-spectrum calipers and a body-dunk procedure, it was verified that every single ounce of the weight I gained was solid muscle mass. Not an ounce of fat. And I ate of lot of pretty much everything.

"It just seemed like everything I ate turned to muscle. I have to say that without a reason of doubt, Bio-Gro was the answer to unlocking my natural ability to put on muscle mass as a true hard-gainer. This stuff is the real deal, and like they told me when they gave it to me, it's real ‘game-changer.'"

--Scott Charles Bell, Construction Foreman (Age 41)

"You might think this is just for men, but you're dead wrong!"

"I've been involved in women's fitness and figure competitions for over 10 years, and now I work as a pharmaceutical representative, as well as personal train over 25 clients in the Dallas area. I understand, for me and my clients, how important it is as a competitor, or someone trying to alter their body composition, to improve lean body mass favorably compared to fat mass, and Bio-Gro did just that.

"When I was introduced to Bio-Gro, after one brief explanation, I immediately realized its benefits. What drew me to Bio-Gro was the convenience, because I don't always like consuming a giant protein shake, especially when I'm not hungry, and it normally leaves me with gas or bloating, which I hate; and with Bio-Gro, you only have to take one tiny scoop; what's more, I liked that Bio-Gro didn't contain any calories, sugar, or fat, which is great when you are dieting or trying to be mindful of your calories or sugar; and best of all, I was impressed by the amount of science behind it. I use Bio-Gro every day, twice a day, and recommend that all of my clients use it too."

--Krista Gibson, Pharmaceutical Sales Rep, & Certified Personal Trainer (Age 34)

    Amino AcidsStudy Results
Intravenous OrnithineProduces a five-fold increase in serum growth hormone in humans.
OrnithineIncreased serum growth hormone in bodybuilders, up to four times the baseline level.
Arginine250 mg/kg/day of oral arginine aspartate given to five healthy subjects for seven days caused a 60% rise in GH during slow wave sleep compared to the control period.
Arginine and OrnithineIn a double-blind study, adult males participating in a 5-week progressive strength-training program who consumed 2 grams of L-arginine and 1 gram of L-ornithine experienced significantly higher total strength and lean body mass scores and excreted less urinary hydroxyproline than placebo-treated subjects.
Ornithine Alpha-ketoglutarate (OKG)Significantly increased IGF-1 and growth hormone levels in trauma patients. In healthy subject, OKG increased tissue levels of growth-hormone-releasing glutamine.
Arginine and lysine1200 milligrams of arginine pyroglutamate combined with L-lysine hydrochloride significantly elevated biologically active growth hormone from two to eight times the baseline value in 15 healthy male subjects aged 15 to 20 years old.
Arginine and lysine1,500 mg arginine and 1,500 mg lysine increased GH in young men only during resting conditions.
GlycineIn 19 normal, non-obese subjects, 6.75 grams of glycine increased growth hormone levels up to 300 to 400 percent that of baseline.
Glycine and L-arginineIncreased the subjects mean resistance to fatigue up to 28% over the controls during acute exhaustive high-intensity anaerobic isokinetic exercise and produced an overall gain in total muscle work of 10.5% more than controls.
Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA)A single oral dose of 5 grams of GABA administered to 19 subjects significantly elevated plasma growth hormone levels compared to placebo-treated controls.
GlutamineTwo grams of oral glutamine resulted in elevated plasma growth hormone in 8 of 9 subjects tested.

100% Lecithin-Free: (A common allergen & industrial emulsifier): Why pay for non-green, cheap filler Lecithin as the #1 Ingredient in leading "greens" supplements? CYTOGREENS™ has ZERO Lecithin! As much as 25% of top "greens" formulas contain this filler.
High-Density, Chlorophyll-Rich Nutrients: The math is simple, CYTOGREENS™ has as much as DOUBLE or more of the Dark Green chlorophyll-rich nutrients as top "greens" supplements, so what are you paying for with other products, celery & soy?

Powerful, ORAC-Listed Anti-Oxidants: CYTOGREENS™ has 346 mg of Standardized, Free-Radical Nutralizing, High-ORAC Anti-Oxidants (1.4 g if you count our Matcha Green Tea)—look at most "greens" on the market, you won't find any ORAC rating, or even a standardization.
Ingredient Amounts That Matter: Many so called "green" supplements supply dozens and dozens of ingredients at dosages that are so small, it's a wonder they are there at all, 5 mg here, 10 mg there—truly miniscule amounts.
True Bio-Availability: CYTOGREENS™ has Cytozymes, a custom 9 enzyme blend that has as much as 40 times the enzyme activity of leading "greens" products. Cytozymes helps break down the raw ingredients to help release nutrients to promote digestion and bioavailability.*

ARX®‡ is a 100% natural, US patented (#7,790,176) proprietary blend that has been clinically suggested to support micro-circulation and clear blood lactic acid levels resulting in superior overall performance.*

CYTOGREENS™ REPRESENTS A REVOLUTION IN THE WAY YOU DELIVER NUTRIENTS TO YOUR BODY

    CHLOROPHYLL: THE DETOXIFICATION "HEAVY LIFTER"

Systemic Detoxification - Over-burdened organs, digestion and immune systems cannot function optimally if they are over burdened by environmental stressors (toxins). The core of CYTOGREENS™ is GREEN ingredients that make up over 80% of the formula! It is the raw, greens based chlorophyll in CYTOGREENS™ that is the "Heavy Lifter" for detoxification.*
Chlorophyll literally binds to highly damaging toxins (such as mercury, lead and arsenic that can build up over time) and shuttles them out of your body.* Highly effective and optimally dosed Milk Thistle (80% Extract) has a long track record supporting liver health.* While other so-called "greens" have 15 mg, 25 mg maybe 50 mg of Milk Thistle - CYTOGREENS™ has included a full 200 mg in every serving.

1 SERVING OF CYTOGREENS™ HAS 21x THE CHLOROPHYLL AS A FULL SERVING OF DARK LEAFY GREENS!

pH Balancing (De-Acidification / Alkalyzation) - With a diet high in protein-rich meat consumption and a broad range of other acidifying dietary consumables, the western diet has left most, especially athletes more acidic than they should be optimally. This pressures your whole system to consistently buffer that acidity. The whole, raw-source greens within CYTOGREENS™ is ideal for supporting a more alkaline system.* The benefit to you as an athlete is that you may be more able to effectively consume, absorb and retain nitrogen from protein consumption.* This is a major advantage for both building and maintaining lean muscle tissue.*
Blood Building - The oxygen carrying capacity of blood is of the utmost importance to any athlete! One serving of Ultra-Concentrated CYTOGREENS™ has over 40 times the chlorophyll of a serving of dark green broccoli! Aside from having a near identical chemical composition as hemoglobin in blood, Chlorophyll supports the production of red blood cells.* Building your blood helps support your vitality, energy levels and your blood's ability to both supply oxygen and carry waste CO2 away.*i

CYTOGREENS™ HAS TWICE THE CHLOROPHYLL-RICH DARK GREEN NUTRIENTS OF LEADING "GREENS" PRODUCTS

Powerful Antioxidant Power - Athletes consume large amounts of oxygen during training. While of course absolutely necessary, it does create Free Radical oxidative damage. According to many scientists, the suggested daily dose of anti-oxidants lies between the ORAC values 3,000 and 5,000. CYTOGREENS™ does not subscribe to the theory of "kitchen-sink formulation" with small ingredient amounts that provide little more than what is known in the industry as "label dressing."

CYTOGREENS™ PROVIDES FEWER INGREDIENTS AT LARGER AMOUNTS THAT PROVIDE REAL BENEFIT.

Our Spirulina alone has a massive ORAC value of 24,400 µmolTE/100g (4x higher than blueberries) - included at over 1,000 mg per serving, that is a truly huge anti-oxidant powerhouse suitable for any athlete. We have included a very rare and organic superfruit known as Amla (Indian Gooseberry), long prized by Ayurvedic medicine for a broad range of applications and an ORAC value of 437,900 µmolTE/100g! We have included Açai berry with an ORAC value of 102,000 µmolTE/100g along with a rich source of naturally occurring Vitamin C Acerola Cherry extract. Supercharging our formula even more, our powerhouse Matcha Ultra-Fine Green Tea Powder has a sky-high ORAC of 134,800 µmolTE/100g! With CYTOGREENS™ you are truly getting a daily dose of dark green pigment anti-oxidant support!*ii

GRAM FOR GRAM CYTOGREENS™ HAS 22x THE ANTI-OXIDANT POWER AS BLUEBERRIES!

Non-"Green" Fats Don't Belong In Your Greens - Many so-called green formulas have the number one ingredient as Lecithin. Lecithin is an emulsifier, a fat most often used in supplement processing, or as cheaper "filler" to take up more room in a given product. Defined by Wikipedia as "Lecithin is a generic term to designate any group of yellow-brownish fatty substances occurring in animal and plant tissues, and in egg yolk..." and it goes on to say " it has multiple uses:" "...replaces more expensive ingredients," "...improves shelf life for some products, and can be used as a coating." It is so common in regular processed supplements that it is far from necessary in a Greens supplement. CYTOGREENS™ has chosen not to include lecithin as an ingredient.

    IMMUNE SYSTEM SUPPORT

Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis Miller) has long been suggested as a cleansative agent and systemic tonic.* NovaForme has gone deeper into cutting edge research to bring hard training athletes immune system support like none other.* Daltonmax® 200 is an Aloe Vera Concentrate that is completely unique in the world of supplements; an organic ingredient that uses the Aloe gel within the Aloe plant exclusively.
Unlike many other Aloe products, Daltonmax® Aloe is never heat, enzyme or carbon treated and as a result maintains its bioavailabilty. Where Daltonmax® really shines is in its large molecular size. 75% of Daltonmax® ranges between 200,000 Daltons and 1,000,000 Daltons as tested by HPLC lab research! Regular Aloe is only 25% by comparison. Large molecular weight Aloe may help promote the body's immune defense system (White Blood Cell Macrophages) that are responsible for both identifying, attacking and destroying foreign invaders!*
From an athlete's standpoint, effective immune function is critical, but even more interesting is the essential role the body's immune system in muscle regeneration and muscle recovery from intense physical activity! Immune system white blood cells literally aid in the repair of damaged muscle tissue.iii,iv,v,vi,vii This multi-stage process is essential in becoming stronger, faster and bigger through repetitive training.
