Andrographis the testosterone and natural Viagra alternative at just 400mg per day

A 2010 study found that when mice were given either 50 mg andrographis or sildenafil. The andrographis group performed more often than the Viagra group.

According to Ergo-Log.com

"The Thai researchers gave their mice 50 mg andrographolide per kg bodyweight. Converted to humans that would mean about 5 mg per kg bodyweight. So if you weight 80 kg you'll need at least 400 mg andrographolide a day. (To make it easier we're assuming that the chemical relatives of andrographolide all have roughly the same effect.)

The strongest Andrographis paniculata extract that we know contains about 50 percent andrographolides.

Andrographis paniculata extracts also inhibit blood clotting, by the way. [Eur J Pharmacol. 2006 Dec 28;553(1-3):39-45.] If you use anti-coagulants or produce few coagulant factors yourself you'd be wise to avoid Andrographis paniculata. "

ProSupps Tip of the Month: Getting Lean without Cardio by Art Ortiz

TIP OF THE MONTH - GETTING LEAN WITHOUT CARDIO

No matter the athlete no matter the goal proper nutrition and supplementation plays a huge part in building the body you desire. While starting my cut down phase I tore all the ligaments in my ankle and I was forced to train on crutches which means I was unable to do any cardio, and while cutting most people would think cardio is key. I found out during these 5 weeks on crutches that I was able to cut down body fat while maintaining muscle with a solid nutrition and supplementation program. Take a look at my diet and supplement program I was on while cutting down without cardio.

Meal #1 - 8 Egg whites | 2 whole eggs | 1 cup of oats | 3 Halotropin
 **Pre-Workout Stack | WORKOUT #1
Meal #2 / Post-Workout Stack - L-Carnatine, 1 I load, 1 scoop of karbolic, 10oz lean protein
Meal #3 - 10oz lean protein | 6oz carbs
Meal #4 - 10oz lean protein | Green veggies
**Pre-Workout Stack | WORKOUT #2
Meal #5 - 10oz lean protein | 6oz quick digesting carbs
Meal #6 - 10oz lean protein | Large serving of green veggies
Meal #7 - 10oz lean protein | Large serving of green veggies
**Before bed - 2 Crash | L-Carnatine
**Intra-workout - For maximum absorption drink your AminoLinx during your workout, they are best utilized when the body is under stress
**Pre-workout Stack #1 and #2 - 1 No3Drive, L-Carnatine, 1 DNPX2 (PWO #1 only)
The purpose of splitting my workouts are to elevate my heart rate twice a day to maximize calorie burn and fat loss.

How to Dose Pre-Workout Caffeine

According to a recent article in Flex magazine the optimal dosage for caffeine should be around 3-6mg/kg of body weight.

At 180lbs you are looking at 246 to 492mg.

Start with about 100 – 200mg to access your tolerance when using caffeine pills.

Get Ripped with Spring Valley L-Lysine for less than $10 per month

Research has shown that l-carnitine is the transporter of fat to muscle to burn. The problem is that if you are already taxed in your food and supplement budget, the additional $30 to $40 for one amino acid can be pretty expensive. Well, lucky for you I found a way to increase your l-carnitine levels without increasing your budget drastically. The answer is in 5,000 mg of l-lysine per day.

Stack with 500 – 1,000 mg of Vitamin C.

Lysine-carnitine conversion in normal and undernourished adult men-suggestion of a nonpeptidyl pathway.

Abstract

Administration of 5 g L-lysine orally to normal adults produced a significant increase in plasma carnitine levels within 6 h followed by a further rise by 48 h. Levels remained high up to 72 h. Similar changes in plasma carnitine were not observed if blood was sampled without lysine load or after administering a load of other amino acids such as tryptophan or threonine. Maximum excretion of carnitine per g creatinine was observed in 24 to 48 h collection after lysine load. Two subjects showed an early peak in 3-h and 6-h collections, respectively. Undernourished subjects failed to demonstrate similar change. After rehabilitation the undernourished subjects behaved as did the well-nourished subjects. These observations suggest that there may be a rapid in vivo conversion of orally administered lysine to carnitine in humans. Conversion of lysine to carnitine may be impaired in malnutrition.

Tumeric: Say No to Moobs aka Gyno

Bodybuilders have long used turmeric whose active ingredient curcumin is anti-inflammatory and beneficial for recovery and pain relief. But, this fantastic compound is now being touted for another benefit of importance to the bodybuilding community. That's relief from the dreaded gynecomastia.

While doses would have to be high and results may vary, this natural spice could definitely be a good addition to the insurance against the negatives of an anabolic lifestyle.

Try 1,000-3,000 mg per day. Add a dash of pepper or buy a product that contains bioperine for increased bioavailability.

You best options for gynecomastia would definitely be a visit to the doctor for either Letrozole or Tamoxifen (Nolvadex).

Muscle Hack: How to get rid of the BCAA foam

If you are a fan of branch chain amino acid drinks, and you should be. Then you are familiar with the BCAA foam when you add water. It is easy to avoid if using unflavored BCAAs and adding them to your protein powder, but often you want a BCAA drink during the day or around your workout.

Well there’s another simple trick to get rid of that annoying foam. Next time you are ready to drink your BCAA’s or leucine, add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice or lemon juice from concentrate.

Just shake and voila! No foam!

You will thank me later for this hack.

Stay strong!

Designing My Son’s First Workout Workout

I’ve been trying to come up with a first workout that would hit his whole body and save time. He’s not actually thrilled about it but I think it will be good to get him more exercise than he gets on the XBOX.

I figured I would put a 15 minute time limit on it using my trusty Gymboss timer.  He’ll do this 3 days per week for four weeks and we’ll see how much he can get done in the time limit. The protocol will consist of the exercise and the reps. The reps for squat-press and lat pulldowns will lower with each successive set and the reps for push-ups will increase. Squat-Presses aka squat to shoulder press will be empty hand.

Squat-Press                                  Push-ups                             Strength Band Lat Pulldowns

10                                           1                                                              10

9                                              2                                                              9

8                                              3                                                              8

7                                              4                                                              7

6                                              5                                                              6

5                                              6                                                              5

4                                              7                                                              4

3                                              8                                                              3

2                                              9                                                              2

1                                              10                                                           1

I think this will get him in decent shape to start. Later I’ll look at adding pull-ups, decline push-ups and strength band squats.  Eventually, we’ll work up to the barbell.

Stay strong!

  • The Bedtime Snack Stack | You really don't want to be big.

You are probably waiting for an expensive stack that you don’t have to do anything but scoop it out and mix it up. Or you want a pill that contains 30 grams of protein. It doesn’t exist … either stop being a wimp or take up crocheting.

Here’s what’s preventing you from getting big. (Say to yourself in your most winey voice.)

    “I don’t like the taste.”

    “It’s too much to eat.”

“It feels funny. I don’t like the texture.”

    “Is it all natural?”

“Does it have artificial colors or sweeteners?”

“Will my mommy tuck me in?”

If you really want to be jacked none of this is a problem.  I once heard Leroy Colbert say “If I thought I could get bigger by drinking a bucket of bull piss, I would do it.”

That pretty much sums up the bodybuilder attitude.

Here’s what you do. It’s freaking cheap and yeah probably not the most pleasing looking but you will have another piece to the get big puzzle.

The Big Bedtime Anabolic Muscle Stack

    1 cup cottage cheese

¼ to 1 cup pineapple (contains bromelain to digest the protein)

Add whatever you want or substitute whatever you want. Nuts, honey, sugar, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup.  Use your f#cking brain!

    Why cottage cheese?

    It’s 80% casein and 20% whey.

    One cup contains:
